Heating

 

The main control panel is in the utility room next to the boiler. The termostat will keep the temperature in the house at a constant temperature in the house during the day and reduce it down slightly at night.

On the day of your departure, the temperature will be lower too.

​

The water is also set to ‘constant’; this comes on at various points throughout the day. There should never be a shortage of hot water as it is backed up by the Aga. Failing that the switch for the immersion heater is in the kitchen on the wall next to the door that leads into the hallway.

BBQ

The BBQ on the patio is available for your use. The BBQ is stored in the utility room and there is a bag of charcoal for you to use too. Once you have finished with the BBQ, please clean the tray and grill and return inside.

Boot drier

 

A boot and wellington drier is available in the utility room. Simply switch on and allow the boots to dry upside down. The drier will automatically switch off.

Gas Fire

 

To turn the fire on, press down the slide control on the right hand side of the fire. You should hear a clicking noise as the pilot lights; you will then see flames but must continue to hold the slider down for a few more seconds.

 

When you release the slider, the flames should continue, but if not please repeat the above operation. For minimum output keep the slider down, for maximum output leave the slider up.

 

To turn off completely, push the slider right up until the flames disappear.

Fuse Board

 

This is located in the janitorial cupboard off the downstairs hallway; please note the linen in this room is not for guests’ use and is locked. Should you need to access the fuseboard, use 2408 to unlock the padlock.

 

Fire Alarm

 

To turn off the fire alarm

 

1 - Press in 514 on the bottom row of buttons

2 - Wait a couple of seconds then press 1 and hold till the alarm stops

3 - To silence the rest of the noise press and hold the reset button which is 2

4 - All lights should go green and the system is working again

 

Stop-cock

 

If you discover a leak, please turn off the water and notify Sally's Cottages immediately. Keep the wter off until a plumber has been and rectified the problem. The stop-cock is located at ground level at the back of the cupboard to the left of the fridge in the kitchen.
